About
Welcome to Sacred Space Christian Counseling. My name is Jeannie Wagner and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with 12 years of experience in Counseling. I've also worked for over 25 years in the mental health field in both of my roles as a counselor and as a social worker.
In my 12 years of experience as a counselor I’ve come to realize that the time I share with my clients during our session is truly a "Sacred Space" for multiple reasons. So many of my clients have experienced deep emotional pain and trauma and I’ve considered it such a privilege that I am allowed in that same space, that space is indeed sacred. As a therapist, I don’t take that privilege or my responsibility lightly.
I also believe it’s a "Sacred Space" because God IS present because his word tells us, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I will be in the midst of them" (Mathew 18:20). So come and join us in that "Sacred Space" as we walk together towards healing and wholeness.

How do I schedule an appointmentTo begin meeting with a therapist, you must first schedule an intake appointment. An intake is an opportunity to discuss your presenting concerns with a therapist based on your needs. In session, your counselor will likely ask questions about your mental health history, family, background, and current functioning, to develop the most appropriate plan with you. An intake appointment typically lasts 45-60 minutes. You can schedule an appointment online by clicking on the "request an appointment" link, by submitting a "contact us" online message or by calling our office at (657) 424-9391

What Can I expect from counselingYour first appointment is an Intake assessment where your therapist will ask you several questions to get a better understanding of what brought your to counseling along with your current symptoms and challenges. Included in this assessment is a social history about your childhood and significant relationships. This appointment is typically an hour long. Subsequent appointments can be scheduled in various increments such as 30- minutes, 45-minutes, and 1 hour appointments which is anywhere from 52-55 minutes so clinician can prepare for her next appointment. What you get out of your appointment is in part due to the work that you put into it and your readiness for change. Please feel free to be direct with your clinician as far as your goals and what would be helpful for you in your treatment plan and approach. It is helpful if you can schedule weekly or at least every other week, in the beginning of your treatment. As you progress, we can extend your appointments out further before you and your clinician decide you have met your goals and are ready for discharge. If you have any questions about counseling, please feel free to ask your counselor.

How does Telehealth Counseling work?Prior to your appointment you will be sent a link to your email. When you click the link for the first time you will be asked to download an app. You will only need to do this one time. Once you click the link and the app is downloaded you will click to join the appointment. Your camera and microphone will turn on automatically. If your clinician has not arrived yet, the screen will inform you that you are waiting for your clinician to join. The platform we use is user friendly and easy to navigate. There are a few exceptions to Telehealth counseling 1. You are required to be in the state of Ohio during our appointment time. This is required by law since your therapist is licensed only in Ohio. 2. You cannot drive during your appointments due to your own safety. 3. We ask that you are in a private area for your own privacy and to ensure confidentiality. 4. your therapist will ask you where you are located in case of emergency. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask your therapist.
